Reconditioning

Ball and roller bearings with outside diameters from 600 mm to 1200 mm are valuable assets. Reconditioning of these bearings restores them to full working order while saving you up to 60 % of the cost of a new bearing. Moreover, delivery periods are reduced considerably to 1 to 6 weeks. We are also happy to recondition bearings from other manufacturers.

Cost effectiveness criteria – reconditioning pays off with:

• high-price rolling bearings
• rolling bearings with short service lives
• rolling bearings that in the past were routinely replaced when machines or plants were overhauled
• rolling bearings in which minor or medium damage has developed

Reconditioning Procedure

• Assessment: The bearing is examined for visible damage and rust. Our experts determine which components (rolling elements, cage, rings) must be replaced or reworked. In addition, they give recommendations for the bearings’ future use.
• Examination of all components: All parts of the bearing are measured accurately by a 3D coordinate measuring machine (magnetic particle inspection). In the process, they are examined for cracks and similar types of damage.
• Reworking/manufacture of new components: Parts that are still fit for use are reground by precision grinding machines and then finished. Missing components are manufactured to the relevant tolerance and clearance requirements.
• Inspection/assembly: All bearing components are checked in accordance with applicable certified quality guidelines. Then the bearing is assembled, subjected to further inspections and packaged. Afterwards, contractually agreed analysis reports are handed over.
